Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Students arriving after 8:55 a.m. are considered tardy and must have a parent or guardian sign them into the office. Tardies can be accumulated and converted into unexcused absences. Please plan on being on time. Breakfast and learning begins promptly and students will miss important instruction if they are late. Johnson County Parks and Recreation (JCPRD) provides Out-of-School-Time (OST) before and after care programs for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. You may contact JCPRD on their website or call 913-438-7275 to make arrangements to enroll your child in this paid program.

Using the CARDS system (Careful and Rapid Dismissal) students will be assigned a dismissal number. This number will be used by any adult picking up a student. Please refer to the CARDS information packet sent home the first week of school for more specific information. Whenever a change in transportation arrangements becomes necessary, the school office must be notified. Changes in transportation called in after 3 p.m. may not be received in time. Emails sent to the teacher or phone calls to the office after 3 p.m. may not be received since this time of day is full of transitions. Please plan on communicating these changes prior to 3 p.m.

To ensure maximum instructional time, appointments, music lessons, practices, etc., please schedule these activities after school hours. Students are NOT to be picked up early or arrive late on a regular basis. Early dismissals and late arrivals should be reserved for unusual circumstances only. Parents/guardians must sign out the student in the main office. Students will be called to the office for early dismissal once parents have arrived at school to sign them out.
